Yellowfin 7.1 BI software to make location analytics easy

Global Business Intelligence (BI) and analytics software vendor, Yellowfin, is set to officially launch the latest version of its BI platform, Yellowfin 7.1, in a series of Webinars throughout Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 August 2014.

The series of launch Webinars will showcase the major enhancements and additions included in Yellowfin 7.1. Yellowfin CEO, Glen Rabie, said that Yellowfin 7.1 chiefly focused on making it faster and easier for users to conduct location analytics.

“Because around 80 percent of corporate data has a spatial element, it’s vitally important that organizations are able easily map that information,” said Rabie. “Merging location-based and traditional BI information provides context to business data, enabling organizations to fully exploit that data and see new opportunities.

“However, difficulty obtaining contextual location-sensitive information, map layers, geometry and GIS data has held many organizations back. That’s a fact we’re about to change.”

Rabie said that Yellowfin 7.1 would make it easier for organizations to combine existing business data with location-based information via three key improvements:

  • Beautiful base layers: Empowering users to immediately create insightful multilayered maps without needing to source WMS layers
  • Geocoding to post code / zip code level: Enabling users to geocode address data to post code or zip code level on-the-fly
  • Geographic data enrichment: Yellowfin 7.1 will also ship with demographic data, enabling users to quickly discover rich location-based insights
