This significant update introduces a suite of new AI-powered features designed to empower independent software vendors (ISVs) and enterprise organizations to democratize data access and insight generation for even their most non-technical users.

At the heart of version 9.16 is "Tell Me About My Data," a powerful AI analytics feature that extends Yellowfin's Assisted Insights capabilities. Tell Me About My Data enables end-users to glean contextual information from reports and charts with just a single click, automatically processing and analyzing the selected data to deliver helpful commentary using clear, natural language explanations and recommended, ready-to-use charts to illustrate its findings.

Using this feature requires an external connection to a supported Large Language Model (LLM). Importantly, Yellowfin's built-in machine learning (ML) algorithms first analyze data locally, meaning detailed, row-level data is never transmitted to an external AI model. After analysis, the insights are then sent to the AI model, which creates the AI-suggested narratives and charts.

End-users can save any output from Tell Me About My Data in the Report Builder for further data discovery, and instantly add the results to other dashboards and Yellowfin content, such as Yellowfin Stories. This means users can bring AI-generated narratives and charts directly into reports and presentations to transform a blank page into a compelling, data-rich story in seconds.
