Meet your personal data analyst: "Tell Me About My Data"

The star of this release is Tell Me About My Data, a new AI-powered feature that lets you glean contextual information from charts and graphs. 

Simply click the new magnifying glass icon on any chart or report, and Yellowfin automatically gets to work. It uses its own in-built machine learning to analyze your data securely, meaning your detailed, row-level data is never transmitted to an external AI model. 

The feature then sends only summarized data insights to the AI model of your choice (connection and setup is required) to generate clear, natural-language explanations and a set of new, ready-to-use charts to perfectly illustrate its findings.

Any chart the AI suggests can be opened directly in the Report Builder, saved, and added to any of your other dashboards just like a chart you built yourself. It’s the end of manual data exploration and the beginning of instant discovery.

Tell Me About My Data builds on Yellowfin’s Assisted Insights to deliver smarter, richer analysis, even from simple reports.

Normally, if you run AI on a chart showing revenue by month, the results will be limited to just that. But with Tell Me About My Data, Yellowfin automatically creates a new report behind the scenes and pulls in extra data your admins have configured (things like demographic or region, for example). This gives the AI more context to work with and surfaces deeper, more meaningful patterns.

Insights are only half the battle. To make an impact, you need to persuade others to act on them. That's why we've integrated this new feature directly into Yellowfin Stories.

Now, with a single click from the Story editor, you can instantly pull those AI-generated narratives and charts directly into your presentation. This transforms a blank page into a compelling, data-rich story in seconds, giving you the confidence to present your findings.

Expanded AI model support

Advanced auditing and tenant management

New auditing capabilities give you full visibility into AI model usage, allowing you to track costs by date, client organization, model, and usage type. You can even drill into a specific request to see the exact prompt sent to the model. We've also enabled a "bring-your-own" connection approach, allowing unique AI connections to be defined for each tenant.

Automated Tomcat upgrades

To enhance data security and save your administrators' time, the Yellowfin updater now includes an option to automatically upgrade Tomcat, eliminating the need for manual work and helping you stay current on the latest security patches.
