Using it is as simple as hovering over any data-set and clicking the magnifying glass icon to get detailed textual and visual data analysis in plain, natural language.

Forget manual data exploration; AI-powered insights are quickly generated in the Auto Analysis side-bar and concisely summarized into dot-point explanations and accessible charts, so that users can read, share and act on the results without needing prior analytics expertise to understand the tool.

When you are finished analyzing, you can select and import the commentary and charts you want to use in other Yellowfin content, including dashboards, reports, Stories and Presentations.

Want to customize results further? Bring AI insights into Report Builder, as shown below, and you can modify metrics, filters and functions of any generated chart to you and your data audience’s liking.

Bring your own AI model

Tell Me About My Data runs on machine learning (ML) algorithms built into Yellowfin to securely analyze your data, and requires a connection to an external large language model (LLM) of your choice to generate the final output: easy-to-understand explanations and ready-to-use charts that help form a contextualized narrative - your data’s story.

Yellowfin currently supports external connection sources to the following AI vendors:

• Azure
• Antropic Claude
• Google Gemini

Yellowfin also supports different model versions of each vendor, such as Clade Sonnet 3.7 or Claude Sonnet 4. This allows you to select the best model to suit your current needs and budget. 

Critically, Tell Me About My Data only send insights to the AI model. This means your detailed, row-level data is never transmitted outside of your analytics deployment, and you can maintain stringent data security and data governance standards. 

Most importantly, external connections to AI models can be enabled or disabled at any time, based on security role-functions set in your Yellowfin deployment.
