Chicago Crime
This Chicago Crime dashboard provides a 12-month overview across the top crimes in Chicago, focusing on Domestic, Weapons Related, Narcotic and Aggravated crimes.
Analytical Dashboard
Dashboard Sub Tabs: A dashboard may consist of one or more sub tabs. You can logically group and display sets of reports and charts in a sub tab with shared filters and interactive functionality with other sub tabs if necessary. In this example, besides the main Overview tab at the top, the other sub tabs provide deeper analysis for each crime type.
Tooltips: Hover your cursor over chart data to highlight specific metrics or categorical data. Right-click on any data point to access the advanced tooltip options — the interactions you see here are dependent on how the report or chart was set up.
Chart Brushing: Brushing allows you to visually restrict results in your chart by choosing to Keep or Exclude certain data points. This is another interactive method of filtering, as you can define what you want to see or remove by highlighting particular areas on your chart. To see this in action, left-click and drag over several days and times in the “Time of Crime” chart — you will have the option to filter from the tooltip. You can return the charts back into their initial state at any time by right-clicking on them and selecting Reset.
Drill Down: You can drill deeper within the dataset through a specific data hierarchy. Click on any bar within the “Crime Location” charts and you’ll see the sub-location breakdowns for each major crime location.
Action Buttons: You can include action buttons in your dashboards that allow you to go into other areas within or outside Yellowfin. In this example, the action buttons here load their respective dashboard sub tabs for each crime type, giving you more detailed analysis.
