Development Update: Yellowfin Dashboard Scrollbar and Loading Indicator

Over the past month or so, we’ve significantly enhanced the Yellowfin Dashboard in Yellowfin’s Business Intelligence solution.

Introducing the Yellowfin Dashboard Scrollbar

Ever been in a situation where you have too many Yellowfin Dashboard tabs and it’s taking you far too long to get from one side of the Yellowfin Dashboard to the other?

With the new Yellowfin Dashboard Scrollbar, you’re able to simply scroll through your Yellowfin Dashboard tabs to find the one you’re looking for with ease.

This feature is turned on automatically, and can be seen when accessing the Yellowfin Dashboard, in a range of scenarios including:

When creating a new Yellowfin Dashboard tab, and;

When editing an existing Yellowfin Dashboard tab.

Wondering when the Yellowfin Dashboard Scrollbar will be made available?

The Yellowfin Dashboard Scrollbar will be available in the next release of Yellowfin (due for release at the end of November 2012).

If the suspense is too much to handle, and you can’t wait for the Yellowfin Dashboard Scrollbar, then there’s another great Yellowfin Dashboard feature available in the latest Yellowfin release…

Dashboard Loading Indicator on / off functionality

The Dashboard Loading Indicator can now be turned ‘on’ or ‘off’.

When turned on, the loading indicator will be displayed for the reports on the Yellowfin Dashboard tab.

You may be in a situation where you have many reports on a Yellowfin Dashboard tab. The advantage of having this feature turned on, allows you to know that reports are being loaded successfully. Once loaded, you’ll be able to scroll up and down the Yellowfin Dashboard and maximise specific reports for further analysis.

To turn it on, all you need to do is go to the Dashboard tab under Administration -> Configuration.

Select ‘yes’ to turn the Dashboard Loading Indicator on. Select ‘no’ to turn it off. It’s that simple!
