The partnership agreement authorizes the Chicago-based cloud analytics specialist to offer Yellowfin’s business-user-oriented BI solution, and associated suite of professional services, to its current and future customers throughout the US.
Sherwin Lake Group will deliver Yellowfin as a standalone BI tool via the cloud, as a fully managed and hosted Software as a Service (SaaS) solution, and as part of its ‘Infrastructure as a Service’ (IaaS) offering – a multitenant cloud-based analytics platform that bundles database (Redshift), ETL (Hadoop-based technologies) and BI (Yellowfin) technology together on a subscription basis via Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Sherwin Lake Group President, Kevin Remmert, said that Yellowfin’s ease-of-use, combined with its product and licensing flexibility, were crucial determining factors in the partnership decision.
“At Sherwin Lake Group, we’ve broken down IT barriers to success by solving analytic problems on the cloud,” said Remmert. “Yellowfin technology proved to be the perfect fit for us within this cloud-based delivery model.
“The future of Sherwin Lake Group is based on selling solutions that bundle analytics consulting with technology on a month-to-month basis. Yellowfin accelerated this future for us by listening to our goals and working with us to deliver the technological and financial flexibility we needed. Not only does Yellowfin enable Sherwin Lake Group and its clients to build world-class data visualization solutions quickly and affordably, Yellowfin has also proven to be the best in the industry at adapting and responding to both our partner and customer hosting requirements.”
Sherwin Lake Group Co-Founder and CTO, David Kreiger, said that adding Yellowfin to its suite of business analytics technologies enabled the consultancy to quickly deliver clients a complete end-to-end analytics platform.
“Sherwin Lake Group provides collaborative petabyte-scale data integration, data warehousing and Business Intelligence services using emerging technologies and cloud platforms,” said Kreiger. “Thanks to Yellowfin, Sherwin Lake Group can now standup an end-to-end BI solution – including Yellowfin and Redshift on AWS – in under a week, or allow customers to share Sherwin Lake Group’s existing IaaS cloud environment as a tenant in less than a day.”
Yellowfin CEO, Glen Rabie, said that Yellowfin was pleased to help Sherwin Lake Group make enterprise quality BI available to America’s mid market.
“Traditionally, the cost and complexity of enterprise grade business analytics programs has meant that world-class BI technologies were only accessible to large organizations with deep pockets and significant internal data expertise,” said Rabie. “By combining best practices gained from implementing analytics projects for the Fortune 500 with Big Data technologies delivered via the cloud, Sherwin Lake Group is empowering organizations of all sizes to obtain immediate analytic insights.
“Yellowfin is proud to be working with Sherwin Lake Group to deliver best-of-breed business analytics technology, at an appropriate scale and cost, to mid-market firms throughout the US.”
