How Can A User Sort Columns On A DashBoard

Hi Support,

A user can sort columns on a report

When I put this report on a DashBoard
There is no option for the user to sort the columns

Can a user sort columns on a DashBoard ?

Thanks - Grant

Hi Grant,

At the moment, this isn't possible and has been added as an enhancement request (TASK ID = 101649).
This will be implemented in a future build.

Regards,
David
Hi David,

Thanks for that, I look forward to the day.

When do you think this task will be scheduled ?

Can I track this task somehow ?

Thanks - Grant
Hi Grant,

You can track this by quoting the TASK ID to the support team.
This was raised by another organisation so it won't show up in your task list.

At the moment we expect this to be implemented after May this year.

David
Hi David,

Thanks for all that

Thanks - Grant

Hi David,

Has the report sorting in the Dashboard been implemented in v6.3 so far?

Thanks,
Larry
Hi Larry,

Nope, we still don't allow users to sort a column on the dashbaord.

Sorry for the bad news.

David
Hi David,
Can you tell me whether TASK ID = 101649 has been implemented? or know when this will be available? we have a customer who is also interested in this feature.
Kind Regards

Sad to know after almost 5 years there's still no ETA as well, forget about having this feature implemented!
Hi,

Unfortunately, what seems like a simple task is not actually that simple.
The reason why we do not currently have this functionality is due to the fundamentals of dashboard functionality.
As it stands right now, each dashboard is a shared object, but accessed by multiple users, so if 1 user changes the sorting on a column, all users who have this dashboard would also see the sort change.
This means you could have users who keep sorting a column, only to have it revert back to something else, which could cause frustration.

Hope you can understand why this has yet to be implemented, or ETA.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns on this.

Thanks,
David
