About Sybase ASE and Composite View
21 January, 2010
I've installed Yellowfin and its system tables on our Sybase ASE Server running on our network.
It runs smooth. But when I want to add another Data Source, after i placed all the connection parameters and click next,
It says 'Error processing from the database'.. It always shows the same error.
Thats why I cant create a Data Source and create a Composite View as well.
Another error that i experience is that when I set my Sybase ASE DataSource's 'Writable' parameter into 'Yes' and after I click next, it again shows the 'Error processing from the database.' error. That's why i can't create an excel datasource report an a Composite View. The database has no constraints. The user as well is the 'Admin' Account so it should not come with a Role or User Grant error because it has full privilege on all the ASE Tables. The Database Device for the ASE Database has free database device space.
Its kind of weird actually. What could be the possible problem? suggested solution?
We need to know this because most of our clients are using Sybase ASE.
Thanks in advance!

This problem is caused by case-sensitive column names in the Yellowfin database.
This will be addressed in the next Yellowfin patch.
Thanks.

Thanks.
I see.
So for now we can't install YF's System Tables in Sybase ASE..
I'll be looking forward for that patch.
Thanks. :)
