Connecting to my data source via ODBC Transoft driver
14 August, 2012
Hi David,
OK, I have had a play, pretty impressive so far.
I now want to move on to connect to one of our databases which we access via an ODBC Driver from TRANSOFT.
Our database sits on a LINUX/Fedora server which I can connect to from my MacBook Pro over a VPN.
I have read the source connection info in your wiki library, frankly it's a bit beyond me.
Source Connection Parameters
I will need a bit of help in progressing this.
How best to achieve that?
Thanx,

Hi,
ODBC connections are actually setup outside of Yellowfin, which we just point you during the data source setup.
For example;
When setting up a connection to a MS Access DB, you need to use an ODBC connection.
This connection is first setup in Windows ;
Then in Yellowfin you will need to use the following DB URL:
jdbc:odbc:

For information on setting up an ODBC source under Mac OS X please see;

The MS Access connection guide may also provide some additional useful info , which has been attached to this post.
Please let me know how you go.
Regards,
David
