Seeing the introduction of the Reporting canvas, when a report has multiple charts, gave me an idea.

What if this same principle was applied to Dashboards. Instead of been confined to pre-defined dashboard layouts (single column, 2-columns with header and footer placeholders) the portlets can be configured with any number of possibilities.
