Error Explained : ‘Submit error (500) : Internal Server Error’


You may have come across the following area in Yellowfin:

You will usually recieve this error in the forum of a pop-up, and usually occurs when loading a list of values in the browser.
e.g. A filter list / recipient list ..

The error itself just means the values could not be successfully loaded into the browser, as you can imagine there could be a number of reasons for this.
It may be intermittent, or it could occur when a specific filter. In most cases it is usually a form of a timeout error, and may be an odd occurrance, or it's simply loading too many values in the list.

In any case, this should not occur and further investigation is needed to identify the cause.

In order to resolve the issue, we need to gather more information and in what context the error occurred.
A good place to start is to answer the following questions;
-Does this only occur on a specific report/dashboard etc?
-What this item working prior to a modification/update ?
If so, what changes were made?

You can then send across the information gathered, as well as the following log files:
-Yellowfin.log
-catalina.out�
-jdbc.log
-stdout..& stderr logs
