install Yelliowfin on SQL Server 2005

I have tried to install Yelliowfin on SQL Server 2005 db- but I am unable to connect to the SQL database.
please see attachment.
Installing into SQL Server 2005 can be a little difficult as it doesn't turn TCP/IP access on by default.

To turn TCP/IP Access on you have to open the SQL Server Configuration manager, from the SQL Server 2005 -> Configuration start menu. (See attached screen shots)

- Enable TCP/IP.

- Right Click on TCP/IP and select properties.

- Set IPALL to listen to on port 1433.. This is the default port for SQL Server.

- Restart SQL Server.. It should now be listening on port 1433.

When installing Yellowfin...

You will be asked to select a TCP port to run the Yellowfin service on. This defaults to 80.
It may be beneficial to change this to 7070. As port 80 may conflict with other services such as skype.

When entering the database details:

Set the hostname to "localhost", if the database is on the same computer on which you are installing Yellowfin.

Set the port to 1433.

Give the database a name. yellowfin is fine.

The dba user must already exist in the database, with DBA rights.

If you selected "create new user" in the installer, then you can enter new details in the yellowfin user fields..

If you have selected "use existing user" then the user must exist within the database.

If this procedure seems to difficult I suggest you install Yellowfin with the HSQL database. Yellowfin will embed this database during the installation. This database is just for the Yellowfin meta-data, you can set up your reporting sources once Yellowfin is installed.

Also, please remember that Yellowfin cannot be installed into "Program Files" on Vista, please choose another directory.

Once installed start the yellowfin service from the Start Menu.. There will also be a link to Yellowfin, that will open in your browser. The default username and password is "admin@yellowfin.com.au" and "test".

Can you please follow the steps outlined in the posts below and send across the relevant information ?

You have installed into the program files folder, and using Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello All,

I am unable to view/click on the login screen tabs in Yellow fin home page and getting the below error message in Tomcat.
"ERROR (RequestProcessor:processMapping) - Invalid path /ErrorEntry.i4 was requested"
Hi,

Can you please check the above post, and see if your issue stems from 1 of the 2 main causes? And if not , email through the logs to support@yellowfin.bi as mentioned in the same post.

Thanks,
David
