There is no way to do this at the moment, and the only option is 'duplicate' report as you highlighted.

With reports, having a clone option is a little different to views, as you don't usually have many people trying to edit the view at the same time. However with a report this is a different story, since reports can be added to dashbaords and broadcast etc.. having a clone option would be difficult to control as you would need to make sure that no-one is trying to use the report at the time of the edit.

Is this more of a safety measure to make sure if people modify the report, they can roll-back if they destroy it?
This would help us understand if there is a better method, or if we should add an enhancement request.

Hi David,

It's kind of a two pronged idea:
1, it would allow a report to still be access while someone edited a cloned version, and
2, it would allow an audit trail of changes and give the ability to roll back any changes - a safety net if you will. Because there is no "undo" option in the report creation process, it's relatively easy to break an existing functional report.
