Why is exporting to PDF so slow?

Hi guys,

An issue has come up with exporting to PDF. We have a report that returns 12,000 rows. When we export to CSV, Excel, or Word it comes out pretty fast. When we try to export to PDF the apps hangs and doesn't complete the transaction.

Are there any known issues with export to PDF?

Thanks
Hi,

There are a few minor issues when exporting to PDF , some co-display reports may not be aligned exactly, bar formatters may not come through exactly as displayed on the report preview.
However there are no known issues that would stop a PDF export from being successful.

PDF exports do take a bit longer (though it shouldn't be by a huge amount), as the data needs to be plotted. then the columns, charts need to be rendered etc..

What errors are actually displayed?
Which build of Yellowfin are you using?

We could also consider getting the CSV export in, so we could import it into Yellowfin and then run a PDF export to see if there is something funny going on due to the data itself. Or do you notice this happens for all of your PDF exports, even smaller reports etc..?

Regards,
David

We also facing the same problem when export to pdf. we got time-out exception when try to export 5K records. But the same set of records can be downloaded to csv with in 1 sec.

Please advice.
