This succinct 5-minute screencast shows you how to create a data source connection between Yellowfin’s Business Intelligence solution and Analysis Services running on your PC or laptop.

The demonstration was created by Teaching Associate for the Faculty of Information Technology at Monash University and Principal Consultant for Minerra Consulting, Steve Remington.

The demonstration assumes that:

  • You have created an OLAP structure, and deployed that OLAP structure, to the Analysis Services server
  • You have SQL server 2008 R2 developer edition installed and operating on your laptop or PC
  • You have installed and configured HTTP access, which allows the XMLA OLAP connection between your Analysis Services server and any XMLA compatible client (such as Yellowfin)
  • You have installed Yellowfin
