Business Intelligence vendor Yellowfin to exhibit at AWS re:Invent 2014

Global Business Intelligence (BI) and analytics software vendor Yellowfin, in conjunction with reseller and implementation partner Blacklight Solutions, announced today that it would be exhibiting at AWS re:Invent 2014.

Amazon’s AWS re:Invent 2014 will take place 11 – 14 November, at the Venetian Sands hotel in Las Vegas, and is the world’s largest annual gathering of the global Amazon Web Services (AWS) community.

As event sponsors, Yellowfin and Blacklight Solutions will be demonstrating their BI and applied analytics solutions at the re:Invent Central Expo Hall, booth number 132.

AWS re:Invent provides cloud technology professionals with the knowledge and skills to refine cloud strategy and leverage the AWS platform – and AWS partner solutions – to improve developer productivity, increase application performance and security, and reduce infrastructure costs.

Yellowfin Director of Product Marketing, John Ryan, said that many organizations were looking harness BI in the cloud, due to its low total cost of ownership, and that Yellowfin was built from the ground-up to assist its customers to reap the benefits of SaaS-based BI.

“Yellowfin is a 100 percent Web-based BI solution that is highly scalable and can support multi-tenant environments,” said Ryan. “Yellowfin has been recognized as the world’s top performing cloud BI solution, within the ‘Dashboard’ and ‘Ad-hoc Reporting’ Vendor Peer Groups, in the Business Applications Research Center’s The BI Survey report for the third year in a row.”

The BI Survey is the globe’s largest annual survey of BI end-users. The BI Survey 14 is the 2014 version of the study.

A recent research note, titled Analytics Pays Back $13.01 for Every Dollar Spent, published by analyst firm Nucleus Research reported that cloud-based BI deployments yield an average Return on Investment (ROI) 1.7 times that of on-premise implementations.

“Given the significant magnitude of the cloud multiplier on application ROI, most organizations are likely to migrate to cloud in the future,” stated the report. “Hardware costs are non-existent, and with the ease of deployment and ease of use associated with many of the analytic solutions, IT is able to free up significant resources in both the support and report building request timelines that have, in the past, caused rifts between business and IT.”

The Nucleus Research study also cited the ability of cloud-based BI to lower “both the system resources required for support and significantly reduce the full-time employee equivalent count” as factors contributing to “lowered cost of ownership”.

A separate study released by global market research firm, MarketsandMarkets, predicated the global cloud analytics market to grow from $5.25 billion in 2013 to $16.52 billion by 2018 – an estimated Compound Annual Growth Rate of 25.8% during the forecast period.
