Yellowfin 7.1 to deliver a beautiful Location Intelligence experience with native base layers

Global Business Intelligence (BI) and analytics software vendor, Yellowfin, is poised to make multilayered analysis for Location Intelligence “quicker, simpler and easier than ever before” when it releases the next iteration of its BI platform, Yellowfin 7.1, according to CEO, Glen Rabie.

Yellowfin 7.1 will be officially released via a series of Webinars, running throughout Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 August 2014.

“Yellowfin 7.1 will ship with a base map for the world, including detailed levels for zoomed-in analysis,” said Rabie. “This base map will enable users to quickly and easily create beautiful maps without needing to source WMS layers or use Google Maps as their map background.”

Rabie explained that underpinning map-based analysis with a comprehensive base layer was critical, providing the necessary context to make location-based data meaningful.

“This development will be a significant enhancement to Yellowfin’s location analytics capabilities,” said Rabie. “Instead of pulling a map layer from a third-party source – such as Google Maps, Yellowfin will use shape files to create an image. As a result, users will be able to export multilayered maps, complete with base layer, straight to PDF to collaborate and share with colleagues.”

Rabie also noted that because users would no longer have to source map layers from third-party providers, Yellowfin maps would have a fresh look and feel, while map-based analysis could be conducted offline or within an intranet environment.

Additionally, Yellowfin’s new native base layer will hasten content creation, enabling users to quickly and easily switch between different map types, whilst removing the need to write multiple reports when creating multilayered maps. Query performance will also be enhanced with users no longer required to run separate reports to generate and display multilayered maps.

“If the ability to quickly understand the relationships between key data sets – your infrastructure, your customers, your suppliers – and discover new opportunities is important to you and your business, then this Webinar is a must,” said Rabie.

Yellowfin will host three concise 40-minute Yellowfin 7.1 release Webinars throughout Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 August 2014.
