Yellowfin again named in Gartner Magic Quadrant for Analytics and Business Intelligence Platforms

Yellowfin Named in Gartner Magic Quadrant for Analytics and Business Intelligence Platforms for sixth consecutive year

For Immediate Release

Yellowfin has improved its position on both axes in the 2019 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Analytics and Business Intelligence Platforms and is included for the sixth consecutive year.

Melbourne, 12th February, 2019 - Yellowfin BI has been recognized for the sixth consecutive year in the 2019 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Analytics and Business Intelligence Platforms* and has improved its position on both axes this year.

According to the Gartner report, “Modern analytics and BI platforms are now mainstream purchases for which key differentiators are augmented analytics and support for Mode 1 reporting in a single platform.” Yellowfin is proud to be at the forefront of innovation in augmented analytics with its Assisted Insights capability and new Yellowfin Signals product.

“We’re thrilled that Yellowfin is recognized among what we believe are the world’s top analytics vendors," said Glen Rabie, CEO of Yellowfin. “Following the addition of advanced augmented analytics in our Yellowfin 8 release, which includes automated data discovery, our dot position on the Magic Quadrant has moved in what we consider to be a positive direction to position us higher in Ability to Execute and further in Completeness of Vision than last year.”

Yellowfin’s release of version 8 in October 2018 included Yellowfin Signals, an automated insights discovery product that is unique in its ability to tailor the insights to the role of each user, and Yellowfin Stories, a data storytelling product that allows users to embed live reports from multiple analytics platforms into a blog-style environment. This helps business users understand the context of the analytics. Yellowfin further differentiated itself in augmented analytics by developing its own natural language generation rather than embedding a third party capability.

“We believe our hard work and vision in delivering cutting-edge augmented analytics capabilities to businesses worldwide, while maintaining a broad and robust set of analytic capabilities, has paid off in the recognition we received in the report as a Niche Player,” continued Rabie. “The report states that ‘Niche Players have specialized strengths and differentiated capabilities that position them well to meet the rapidly evolving requirements of customers in this market.’ The future of analytics will change how businesses use BI and we want to be at the forefront of that change.”
