Yellowfin 9.16.1 Scales Reporting Performance with Fast PDF Beta

AUSTIN, TEXAS, October 16th, 2025 – Yellowfin today released Yellowfin 9.16.1, a performance and capability update focused on scaling high-volume data exports, extending self-service data preparation capabilities and quality-of-life enhancements.

9.16.1 release highlights

Here is a breakdown of key performance and functionality updates in the 9.16.1 release:

• Fast PDF Exporter (Beta): The new PDF exporter is designed for high-speed and memory efficiency, allowing for the quick export of very large content reports, multi-page presentations or high volumes of dashboards. This is ideal for production-grade use cases where output needs to be generated quickly. Note that complex formatting is not guaranteed to export identically to the browser view, and certain objects like JavaScript Charts are not supported. • Data transformation for client organizations: We've extended the power of our Data Transformation (DT) capability. Client Org users are now able to create and run their own DT flows using their available data sources, fostering greater self-service data preparation and agility at the client level. • Enhanced governance: A new REST endpoint (GET /admin/users/{id}/content) has been added, allowing Content Super Users to list all content a specific user can access, including private items. This is a crucial tool for audit and security oversight.
  
  
• Report customization: We’ve added the ability to customize totals (section, grand, and column) to include line borders, a small but important feature for financial reporting clarity.

Other enhancements and fixes

A selection of smaller refinements introduced in 9.16.1 include:

• Localization: New report formatting options forces column header text breaks for improved display in languages like Japanese.

• Workflow: Added the option to configure Export to PDF or XLSX as a button action directly within Canvas Dashboards.

• Consistency: Ability to create specific default date, time, and timestamp formats for reports at various organizational levels.
